Satsang: Yoga Masterclass

The Sanskrit term satsang (सत्सङ्ग) is made up of the words sat (truth) and sanga (coming together). It can be translated as "the company of truth" or "truth seekers coming together." Groups can be a powerful stimulus to spiritual growth. They are intellectually engaging and bring out the best in each member. In this class, students will dive into the study of yoga beyond what is traditionally taught in a normal class setting. This offering will vary by month, and may include asana, meditation, pranayama, and group discussion. Students will explore teachings on the contemporary application of timeless philosophies for living an awakened life, with the purpose of giving more depth and meaning to the practice. This is a space for experienced/advanced students, yoga teachers, and students currently enrolled in yoga teacher training. Students can join this class at any time, but the offering is cumulative and progressive with the expectation that students plan to attend regularly so that they can experience the depth that comes from learning under a particular teacher and the joys of a shared language, experience, and consistent class environment. This quarterly offering is primarily led by senior teacher and yoga therapist, Celeste Greene. If other faculty step in to teach this class, students can be assured that our faculty go to great lengths to prepare their substitute teachers with tremendous care.  Join us for good yoga, in good company.

Led by senior teacher and yoga therapist, Celeste Greene.

Next Offering: November 16 3-5PM

The breath is often the first thing we’re told to notice in yoga. Too often the conversation around breath begins and ends with controlling the breath. This quarter's Masterclass invites us to pause the effort of control and instead turn toward curiosity. The breath is a reflection of our inner state — a mirror showing us what we might not yet have words for. It reveals our energy, our emotions, our nervous system, our beliefs. Before we try to change it, we must understand it. Only then can we begin to practice prāṇāyāma not as performance, but as relationship. This Satsang invites you into the subtle body, the place where breath becomes awareness, and awareness becomes transformation. Join Celeste to explore:

  • How breath shapes our inner state and opens the door to healing

  • How to breathe with movement

  • What to do when the breath feels stuck, short, or unreachable

  • And for teachers: How to teach breath practices with purpose, clarity and confidence

Whether you’re a teacher, a student, or simply someone craving deeper connection to your practice, this is a space for inquiry and embodiment. Celeste will guide the group through movement, breath, reflection, and discussion, all grounded in the wisdom of yoga and the shared experience of community.
